On isomorphism of two bases in Morrey-Lebesgue type spaces
Double system of exponents with complex-valued coefficients is considered. Under some conditions on the coefficients, we prove that if this system forms a basis for the Morrey-Lebesgue type space on $left[-pi , pi right]$, then it is isomorphic to the classical system of exponents in this space.
متن کاملDistances between Banach spaces
Abstraca. The main object of the paper is to study the distance betwecn Banach spaces introduced by Kadets. For Banach spaccs Xand y. thc lGders distancc is denned to be rhe infimum of the Hausdorfl distance d(Bx, rr) betwecn the respoctive closed unit balls over all isomctric linear embeddings of f and yinto a common Banach space Z. This is comparcd with the Gromov-Hausdorff distance which is ...
متن کاملExistence of Fredholm operators between two Banach spaces
Let Ω be a nonempty open subset of R. A consequence of (i) is that there is no Fredholm operator between L(Ω) and L(Ω), 1 < p < ∞. A consequence of (ii) is that there is no Fredholm operator between L(Ω) and L∞(Ω). Proof. Put X0 = kerT and Y1 = T (X). Then dimX0 < ∞, codimY1 < ∞, and Y1 is closed in Y . Since X0 is finite dimensional, it has an algebraic topological complement X1. Then T |X1 : ...
متن کاملThere Is No Bound on Sizes of Indecomposable Banach Spaces
Assuming the generalized continuum hypothesis we construct arbitrarily big indecomposable Banach spaces. i.e., such that whenever they are decomposed as X ⊕ Y , then one of the closed subspaces X or Y must be finite dimensional. It requires alternative techniques compared to those which were initiated by Gowers and Maurey or Argyros with the coauthors. This is because hereditarily indecomposabl...
متن کاملInterpolation between Hilbert , Banach and Operator spaces
Motivated by a question of Vincent Lafforgue, we study the Banach spaces X satisfying the following property: there is a function ε → ∆ X (ε) tending to zero with ε > 0 such that every operator T : L 2 → L 2 with T ≤ ε that is simultaneously contractive (i.e. of norm ≤ 1) on L 1 and on L ∞ must be of norm ≤ ∆ X (ε) on L 2 (X). We show that ∆ X (ε) ∈ O(ε α) for some α > 0 iff X is isomorphic to ...
